Monica Wofford, leadership development expert, has been quoted in Forbes Magazine, Bloomberg Business, and on CNBC, MSNBC, and ABC.
Leadership articles from Forbes, Bloomberg, Huffington Post and more!

As an author and writer, I read constantly. Mostly business and much about leadership.
I know you’re schedule is just as nutty as mine, so I thought I’d pull together what I’ve read and share the highlights in the form of a weekly leadership artcile recap. That way you can still follow Step 2 of Contagious Leadership  (Leaders develop our own selves, while also taking interest in the growth of others.), but also still have time to have that oh so elusive life.

Daily alerts, notices and articles from sources such as Harvard Business Review, Forbes, Bloomberg, FlipBoard, Quartz, the major news outlets and many more arrive my inbox and from those, this week, I found a few fascinating and also information leadership development nuggets I thought you might enjoy:

CEOs on Social Media

http://www.forbes.com/sites/susanadams/2013/08/07/less-than-a-third-of-top-ceos-are-on-social-media/  Stop the presses on this one! 68% of CEOs are NOT on social media and Warren Buffet has sent out two tweets and has more than half a million followers. Hmmm… trying to lead effective customer communication or send your CEO a hint? You’d better find out where they’re hanging out and listening cuz it’s not on twitter!

Filling the Leadership Pipeline

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/jennifer-v-miller/millenials-leadership_b_2900814.html?utm_hp_ref=leadership  Who’s taking the lead? Or maybe more specifically, who’s taking your seat? This is a great article on building benchstrength from a generation of incoming leaders you may not yet understand.

Great article on Innovation

http://www.forbes.com/sites/johnkotter/2013/08/13/5500/ It’s great to say you want people to think outside of that proverbial BOX but do you have a clue just how to do that or how to inspire that. This gentlemen who invented a platform you might just use daily, has innovation and big idea generation down pat. (oh and I want to go on that new transport device he’s developed!)

Fascinating! 8 Minute Test

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-08-12/the-eight-minute-test-that-can-reveal-your-effectiveness-as-a-leader.html Okay, so this one had to go in my recap for two reasons. Anyone who knows me and the work I do with personalities, knows that I hate it when personality profiles are called TESTs. The flat truth is that you CANNOT fail your personality. In addition, and secondly, ANYONE and ANY set of preferences can be a leader. It all depends on the needs of those you with to lead. So, while a fan of Forbes, I took this article with a grain of sand and turned my nose up at an instrument that proports to tell me I may not be able to lead. Hogwash.
