How you lead affects how well they do, or do not, succeed.

I’ve always believed anyone can be a leader. No matter your personality or approach, everyone has the ability to lead. The key is in knowing HOW you do it and how it might be different from what they need or what your company culture says is the way to succeed. This tool will tell you how you lead and your leadership style, but more importantly it is the foundation from which you can build an understanding of what they need.

Ready to complete it now?

Head on over to this page and select the 18 words that best describe your behavior. Your results will show you your leadership style and the behaviors you typically demonstrate, even the behaviors that come out when you’re under stress. (taken it before? Try choosing answers that are only true when you’re mad or highly stressed. If the answers now are different, chances are those from when you’re mad are more authentic to your natural personality)

What Do My Answers Mean?

It means you know just enough to be dangerous, actually. There is so much more to you than one box or another of behaviors and no human being fits neatly and cleanly into one box or another. However, when you complete the short CORE Snapshot, apply the information to the following: –          See if you can identify the box of behaviors of your most difficult person. Does that change how you see them if you know they are now in a different box naturally, instead of purposely trying to tick you off? Does this mean you would lead them differently? –          See if you can identify the box of your boss. Now that you see his or her behaviors, does this change how or when you will approach him or her for a decision? –          If you see in black and white the behaviors listed for when you are experiencing stress, will you stop beating yourself for behaviors you’ve been trying to change for a decade, but haven’t been able to?

I know my style, now what?

The more you know, the more you grow. As a leader, becoming a better leader is every bit as much about learning more about who you are and how you operate as it is about those employees you keep trying to motivate. Those now what questions are about what you will do and could do with this information. The quick CORE Snapshot is the little brother to a much more comprehensive tool. If you’ve been wanting to know what to do next in your life or what you want to be when you grow up, that tool will help with that issue. However, the immediate now what is to start thinking about where you operate from, what personality you identify with, and what that is doing to the expectations you have of those you lead. How you lead determines how well you succeed with the team that reports to you. Thus, how you lead is critically important to your results. This isn’t some tool that’s going to call you a color or an animal. It’s a guide to help you grow and produce the results you’re wanting that team to show. Now go see how you lead.  I’m Monica Wofford and that’s your Monday Moment. Have a great week, an even better Monday, and of course, stay contagious! The CORE Snapshot is a leadership traits assessment quiz that allows you to understand how you lead.
