The question posed last week was what have you stopped doing, sun-setted, or de-emphasized in your leadership post pandemic?
Extra sensitivities do exist, but our environments, policies, and work locations are also still unsettled. One item that seems to have stopped in the amid all the changes, is trust. For example, leaders say they can’t trust team members to take a joke and employees say they can’t trust leaders to stay aware of differences, or what has been
coined as WOKE.
Trust is often about relationships and with staffing changes and revolving doors of many workplaces turning at the speed of mass attrition, relationships are suffering.
So how do you lead improvement of the levels of trust in your organization?
- Focus on getting to know who you lead.
- Share who you are, professionally speaking, using a bit of vulnerability.
Gone are the days of acting one way at work and being yourself in other places. Be real. Be genuine. Ask questions and show interest.
Trust and relationships will follow.
