It keeps coming up in my news and social feeds, this concept of “tip fatigue”. But it also keeps coming up with those in our coaching programs, except I’d call it leadership fatigue. Here is your Monday Moment Video on Leading Through Fatigue.
Are you tired? Drained? Fed-up? At the end of whatever figurative rope we can imagine?
While that sounds like an infomercial for which I’m about to have a fabulous product for 9.99, the reality is most of the leaders I work with are DONE or awfully close in one area of their world or another. We’ve passed burn-out and are reaching crispy critter. So what do you do when you and those you lead are experiencing such fatigue?
- You get clear.
- You get focused and you get going.
- Clearly define your role, your goal, and theirs, and limit the efforts spent in other people’s areas – focus only on your top priorities like you’re impersonating a laser – and then, imagine you’re about to go on vacation.
You know that feeling. Now, you can’t stay there forever, so once you get through the current project, issue, or effort, take a day or time off to recharge and then start back again.
