Good morning and Happy Monday.
I’m Monica Wofford and this is your Monday Moment.

From time to time, it builds the value of our Monday Moments to group topics into a small series of sorts, much like I do when coaching over time on a specific topic or area of development. The grouping builds momentum. Momentum builds retention, and one of the areas in which this is most obvious is on the topic of communication.

Ah, communication. Now, THIS is a BIG topic, but wait, let’s get basic… what IS communication exactly?
Likely if you asked ten team members, you’d get ten different answers, but Dictionary.com says it’s the imparting or exchanging of information.

Think of this definition, and the below questions, in terms of Every. Single. Message conveyed, said, shared, or implied, in your role in leadership.

  • Do you think about the words you use?
  • Do you pay attention to your tone? How about when stressed?
  • Ever looked at the way your body is positioned?

Monitor these three questions especially this week and know that in the land of leading your communication, this is merely the tippy tippy top of a pretty large, gargantuan even, sized iceberg.
