Soooo if you saw the title of this Monday Moment, I’m betting creative ways to show employees how much you value them, or wish to recognize their contributions, is not quite what came to mind when you saw the words “Creative Leadership Gestures”. Just to be clear, we’re not talkin’ about one finger salutes or anything that indicates how to turn up the figurative volume. LOL.

Creativity reigns in employee recognition and making a conscious choice to speak in a language the employee understands is the name of the “them getting what you mean” game.

Attention.

People tend to show their appreciation of others in the same way they would like to RECEIVE said appreciation. Watch how they do it. Test sharing a similar appropriate action that helps them easily interpret just how much they are valued at the place where they spend more time than with their family.

Your creativity is limit-less and those whose contributions also appear limitless, deserve your additional leadership effort in providing them with an acknowledgement outside the norm and beyond the ho-hum recognition methods or gestures.
