Well hello there and Happy Monday! I’m Monica Wofford and this is your Monday Moment.
We’ve never really talked about it in a Monday Moment, but Let’s Talk Leadership, is both what you’ll hear me say at the end of each one, AND a book. It’s a book for leaders who want to know how to lead, become a better leader, and actually enjoy doing it.
Published in October 2025, Let’s Talk Leadership covers how the rules have changed, what leaders are now faced with and must address, and all facets of the people one has the privilege of leading, including feelings, fears, resilience, initiative and yes, talent.
One chapter within Let’s Talk Leadership is entitled Time, Talent and Tenacity and here’s what we know to be true for leaders young and old, new and seasoned, recently promoted or even in the corner office.
- It takes time to find talent.
- It takes time to develop the potential in that talent once you find it.
- And when you develop someone and they get promoted, it takes tenacity to be willing to start the process all over again.
And while we think finding the talent is the hardest part, it’s actually finding the time to create, follow, and execute a talent search and hiring process that most leaders procrastinate the longest.
